About YoniCincinnati born and bred, Yoni earned a B.A. in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. Fortunate to have diverse experiences ranging from a management training program for a large consumer products manufacturer, a small hi-tech start up, and launching a Jewish community building non-profit, Yoni now works as the regional director for a national Jewish non-profit, and is based in Chicago.
In addition to being published on several blogs and webzines, Yoni has spoken to groups ranging in size from small classes and inter-faith sessions to conferences of several hundred people. He has spoken about Israel, the Middle-East conflict, Community building, Jewish young adults in the United States, Judaism, Social Media, and Social Entrepreneurship. Mensch-in-training, blogger, beatboxer, cyclist, drummer, producer, Yid lover, hip hopper, urban enthusiast, and life explorer, Yoni just loves learning. This site is designed to showcase and inform about some of the projects with which I've had the good-fortune and opportunity to be involved. Check it out, and drop me a line if any of it resonates with you.
Everything I'm working on seems to revolve around community building, starting with bringing good people together. Many of the projects originated from the difficulties one faces being in a new city after college; starting a new life, meeting new people, finding engaging opportunities both for entertainment, education, and social action. This has led me to focus, more recently, on bridging the gaps between existing institutions and the current generation of 20's and 30's who expect to interact with each other and organizations in very different ways. The big picture is to find ways to turn stagnant cities into thriving cities, by creating interpersonal connections, and connecting people with ideas to people who have the knowledge and resources to turn vision into reality. |
